LOVE Island’s Chris Hughes has been praised for showing his emotions by a counselling agency, after previously speaking out about his mental health battle.
The popular contestant was seen breaking down in tears during his break up chats with Olivia this week and fans and professional alike were quick to praise the farmer for being honest to his feelings.
Chris was left in tears after Olivia decided to call off their romance once again, and was seen breaking down in tears as he spoke about his sadness about the split.
Signpost Counselling took to Twitter afterwards, writing: “They say men younger & older don’t feel safe to show their emotions … shout out to Chris #LoveIsland for being himself and bearing all.”
The agency also runs coaching and support groups with the aim to empower and inspire young people.
Before entering the villa, Chris admitted he had overcome his crippling panic attacks with hypnosis.
Taking to Instagram, he wrote: “Hopefully this may help certain people who’ll relate: It was about May 2013 when I finally overcame anxiety and panic attacks, most sickening months of my life where you never know what your you’re guna do.
“And it wasn’t until my mum knew and I spoke out about it I could sort things out.”
He continued: “It hit me again summer just gone but I knew from the breathing techniques, imagery and everything else I was taught, getting over it wasn’t an issue.
“Took time and money but it was the best I ever spent.
