STIPE MIOCIC cemented his place as the world’s best heavyweight as he defended his title with a ruthless first round knockout victory over Junior Dos Santos at UFC 211 on Saturday.
The champ landed a right on JDS before finishing the fight in Dallas, which he later said he had been training specifically to do.
He revealed: “We were working on that for 10 weeks. We were working in that in the back room. My team, that’s why I’m the champion.
“Dallas, you’re amazing. Thank you. I love this city.”
Joanna Jedrzejczyk produced a masterclass against Jessica Andrade to retain her UFC strawweight title for the fifth successive time.
The challenger did manage to cause some significant damage during the first round.
However, after taking some heavy punishment to her forehead, Jedrzejczyk recovered to completely outclass the Brazilian opponent and forced her to chase the fight for the four rounds that followed.
