Morven Christie, 35, is a Scottish actress who grew up in Glasgow and Aviemore.

She has worked both on stage and on camera and is best known for her role as heiress Amanda Kendall in Grantchester.

But, she has also starred in The A Word, Doctor Who, Hunted and The Young Victoria.

Who does Morven play in Grantchester?

Morvern is reprising her role of Amanda Hopkins – the childhood sweetheart of vicar Sidney.

In the last series she left her husband Guy and gave birth to a daughter, Grace.

In series 3 Sidney will be forced to choose between the clergy and his strong feelings for the love of his life.

Who did Morven Christie play in The Replacement?

In The Replacement she starred as Ellen Rooney – a successful architect in her mid-thirties.

Ellen gets pregnant just as her career is about to take off.

It’s not great timing but she’s confident she can make it work. Ellen doesn’t believe she has to choose between family and full-time career.

Ellen’s tendency to micromanage means the idea of sharing her big project makes her nervous – and her fears come true when her maternity cover replacement (played by Vicky McClure) constantly undermines her.
